Required Reading for Building a Seven-Figure Agency

There’s one thing I know: books are undervalued.  Maybe it’s because we’ve had them  around for millennia that we take them for granted, but words on a page can transform your life and your business.

The power of any particular book varies from person to person, obviously.  It’s not just about taste differences, but when a particular text crosses your path.  A book that rocks your world at a particular stage of your agency’s journey might mean very little to you if you’re at a completely different milestone.

With timing in mind, here are the books, categorized by purpose, that I wish I had consumed while growing a small creative services agency to seven-figure revenues.

Kick ass on your next sales call, without being pushy or sleazy:

Spin Selling by Neil Rackham

Ensure your clients never leave you:

The Art of Client Service by Robert Solomon

Build your sales machine and get reliable leads from outbound methods:

Predictable Revenue by Aaron Ross

Simplify your marketing strategies and get consistent inbound leads:

Traction by Gabriel Weinberg

Build a cohesive and passionate team:

[The other] Traction by Gino Wickman

Hold your ground in any negotiation and get what you want:

Start With No by Jim Camp

Write copy that makes clients beg to hire you:

Trust Me I’m Lying by Ryan Holiday
